Government Relations Coordinator

Closing Date: April 17, 2019

Budget: 20,000.00 CDN

The Government Relations/Lobbying Program will include meetings with politicians and their staff, but also include a whole range of other tasks that may or may not be employed including: technical submissions, working-level meetings, third party mobilization, digital outreach, and targeted media.

Just as each issue is unique, no single way of approaching government will be effective in every situation. While some firms highlight their access to politicians or the number of political meetings they can organize, these are only a subset of the full range of tactics that can be used. A successful firm will focus on securing government contracts to supply, install and train the approximate 250 FN and Inuit communities on Open Broadcaster’s Emergency Alert Player.

Seeking an experienced government relations/lobbying company with presence in Ottawa to set up meetings with both Ministers of Public Safety, Crown-Indigenous Relations Canada and Indigenous Services Canada or their political staff, and departmental officials (e.g. DM, ADM and Director General level).

Develop high impact promotional material with targeted power point and handout/briefing notes to summarize the recommendation that the federal government subsidize Indigenous language radio stations.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree; 5+ years of related experience preferred.
