Sunset Advisory for first generation AlertPlayer 5.0 Systems
These devices are over 10 years old, with limited storage capabilities and incompatible with current operating systems. Due to these limitations, we are officially announcing the eventual end of the 5.0 hardware series.
Don’t panic. No Immediate action required. While they may still function for a while, using latest 5.1 software updates, users should begin planning for replacements in the near future.

✅ AutoFS Setup – Now includes automatic syncing with common Network Attached Storage (NAS) locations.
✅ Upgraded OS – Based on Ubuntu MATE 24.04.02 LTS, offering free 10 years of support for long-term stability.
✅ Improved Audio Handling – Now supports cross-fades and voice tracking using the Interpipe PipeWire default sound system. Eliminates previous stop/start behavior by replacing it with smooth, uninterrupted audio “Pipes.”
✅ Refactored Alert Crawl – Includes new visuals settings for customizable crawl speeds.
✅ Filtered Logs – Now displays only specific event types for clearer, more efficient monitoring.
